Airpatch: Wireless Effects Pedal Controller

Q: What is Airpatch?

A: Airpatch is a single channel audio loop switch with a wireless controller. Like other audio loop switchers, Airpatch is used to bypass or connect your instrument audio to an effects loop containing one or more pedals. Airpatch does this with a wireless, battery powered controller that controls the Airpatch effects loop with three switching modes (latch, momentary & reverse momentary).

When the effects loop is engaged, your instrument is connected to the pedals, so the effect can be heard. When the loop is bypassed, the effects cannot be heard. This is useful for toggling one or more effects during practice or performance.


Q: Is Airpatch compatible with all effects pedals?

A: Airpatch is compatible with all effects pedals using industry standard instrument level signals. Airpatch has been tested with most major brands and designs. Current Airpatch models are compatible with ‘mono’/ monophonic audio connections only (not stereo).

Airpatch is designed to work with instrument level audio signals only. Line level audio or high gain pedals that exceed 9V in signal levels should not be connected.

Results may vary depending on the design of the pedal you use. If you experience an issue please let us know and describe which effects pedal combination was used. Airpatch is compatible with both buffered and “true bypass” effects pedals.


Q: How many pedals can I connect?

A: Airpatch uses a single channel effects loop. You may connect as many pedals in the effects loop as you want. All pedals in the loop will be activated and bypassed together using the single-button wireless controller. Airpatch can be connected anywhere in your signal chain allowing you to connect pedals before and after the effects loop as well.

Q: Why are some cables incompatible with Airpatch?

A: Some audio and DC power cables are incompatible with the Airpatch loop switching receiver. This is due to the recessed audio jack design. The recessed audio and DC power jacks are incompatible with some low-profile connectors as they will not be able to fully seat in the recessed jack.

Aviate Audio recommends standard right-angle audio and DC jacks that don’t utilize a low-profile design. Most standard cables are compatible. Some audio jacks that utilize a flat or “pancake” style connector may not be compatible.


Q: Will there be interference with other wireless devices?

A: No. Airpatch is compliant with FCC regulations and has been designed and tested to ensure that it will not disrupt other wireless devices or be disrupted by other wireless devices (including wireless guitar systems, bluetooth devices, wifi, phones, etc.).

Q: Is the attachment system compatible with my instrument?

A: Yes. The Airpatch controller mounting plate is designed to mount securely on any flat surface using our proprietary removable, reusable adhesive pad. The wireless controller clips into the mounting plate. The connection is very strong and you will not need to worry about it falling off or being removed by accident.

If your instrument does not have a flat surface to locate the controller, or your application demands a different solution please reach out and we will work with you to develop a mounting plate that suits your application. Stay tuned for new mounting plate options for instrument straps and more.

Q: Will the adhesive pad mark or damage my finish?

A: We use a specialized adhesive pad that was developed specifically for finish friendly applications. The adhesive pad has been tested on Nitrocellulose, Polyurethane and Polyester guitar finishes with no effect on the finish whatsoever after being fastened to the instrument for months at a time.

Please ensure you follow the assembly instructions when applying the adhesive pad. The permanent side sticks to the controller mounting plate and the finish friendly/ reusable side will adhere to your instrument or playing surface. If the adhesive pad gets dirty simply wash it with warm, soapy water until clean and let it dry in a clean place. Once dry, the pad will be clean, and the adhesion will be preserved.


Q: What if I lose my charging cable?

A: If your charging cable is lost contact Aviate Audio via email at (contactus@aviateaudio.com) to request a replacement.

Q: Can I cancel my pre-order?

A: If a pre-ordered product purchased from the Aviate Audio website is not shipped within 90-days of purchase you may cancel your pre-order and receive a refund. Please contact customer support via email at contactus@aviateaudio.com and refer to our return policy for more information.


Q: Why should I buy online?

A: Speeding up the process. By ordering online you will get prices faster and you will be able to go through the order confirmation and payment process much faster. Most orders placed online ship the same day. Our products are available at aviateaudio.com and select online and physical retailers.


Q: What information should I input when ordering?

A: Our online ordering system will ask for all the important information you should submit. If you have a VAT number, please remember to submit it. This will make sure the shipment is not delayed because of the lack of a VAT number


Q: What payment methods can I use?

A: You can use all major credit cards.

If you are a customer with an established customer relationship with Aviate Audio. you are able to use the invoice as a payment method on our online shopping checkout process. If the invoicing option is not activated for you although you are a repeated customer, please notify us via email at contactus@aviateaudio.com.


Q: Is VAT charged?

A: If you have a VAT number, then VAT is not charged. You need to remember to add the VAT number to your account information section. The online checkout system will automatically fill in the submitted VAT number when you order products.

You can also add your VAT number during the checkout process manually.


Q: Can I change the delivery address?

A: In most cases we will be unable to change your delivery address after your order is placed. Please ensure you verify your shipping information before placing your order. If you place an order with an incorrect shipping address please notify immediately and we will do our best to assist you.


 Q: What are the delivery charges?

A: Delivery charges are dependent on the shipment requirements and location. You can see the shipping fees on the checkout process before the payment is made.
